He may not have a house full of people, but John Stamos’ house is certainly full of character, lovely memorabilia of a life well spent and, well, a lot of seemingly random stuff.
From the signature Elvis Presley jumpsuit hanging on a dummy in his studio/party room (waiting patiently for Uncle Jesse to reprise his perfect Elvis impersonations) to a letter from his parents framed to one of the walls, mug shots of a man arrested for hitting on someone’s wife pasted on another one, a 14 foot high ‘D’ sign for Disney in his backyard (he has all the letters, FYI), all the way to a cute little onesie with his Full House catchphrase (“Have mercy”) imprinted on it (and made perfect by an outline of Uncle Jesse’s haircut), everything in John Stamos’ house seems to have a cool backstory.
All in all, there is loads to see, love, and swoon over in John Stamos’s little ‘fairy-tale hideaway’ in Beverly Hills — that he now shares with his wife, Caitlyn McHugh Stamos, and one-year-old son, Billy.
The house has been designed by Chris Barret from Chris Barret Designs. She and John worked closely together to make sure the house was as much about comfort and style as it was about heart and humor.
The Fuller House star bought the property in 2005 and calls it his first ‘adult home;’ since then it has transformed from a bachelor pad to a full-fledged family home, but the family seems to be ready for something bigger, as their Spanish-style house in the Post Office enclave is currently on the market for $5.8 million.
Keeping it natural
John Stamos’ house is designed with rustic, earthy tones and reclaimed wood. One of the ceilings of the house is painted with a beautiful mural in earthy undertones. But his love for nature does not stop here. Instead, an entire section of John Stamos’ backyard has been turned into a fruit and vegetable garden, where the family grows lemons, kumquats, limes, tomatoes, carrots and beans.
The backyard offers great views of the valley and the natural beauty that surrounds it. The open kitchen, pool and Jacuzzi offer comfort and great hosting spots for their dinners and parties.
Keeping the inner child happy
John and Caitlyn are both big Disneyland fans, and that comes across quite a lot throughout their house.
Their family wall is covered with photographs of them together and with their respective families visiting the theme park. It was only natural then that their son’s room too was Disney-themed — with Winnie the Pooh curtains sewn by Caitlyn herself hanging on the windows.
Stamos’ most prized possessions
As the Full House star has admitted himself, Stamos loves to build relationships and memories around them. And that is truly evident from every corner of his house.
He still has (and holds dear) the Can Can doll he requested from the team of Small Wonder, a letter from John Travolta and one from the President of the United States, his first ever drum set he got at the age of five, a Full House jar, a collection of guitars from the hit television show, and a blue onesie from their gender reveal all proudly displayed around the house. He sure likes to carry his heart up his sleeves and on the walls of his house!
There may not be a lot of bedrooms or space to spare in John Stamos’ house, but it sure is a house full of lovely memories, love, and laughter. All that Uncle Jesse seems to be missing are his lovely nieces.
